Accessibility Statement

Effective Date: [September 05, 2025]

1. Our Commitment

The Virtual Mall of America, LLC (“VMOA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to ensuring that our websites, immersive environments, and related services are accessible to all people, regardless of ability or technology. We believe accessibility is essential to delivering an inclusive, engaging, and equitable experience for every visitor, creator, and brand partner.

Our goal is to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA (and 2.2 where applicable) and to comply with relevant accessibility laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and applicable international standards.

2. Scope

This statement applies to:

  • All VMOA websites and subdomains

  • Immersive zones, AI‑powered experiences, and creator/brand portals

  • Mobile and desktop versions of our platform

  • Interactive features, including chat, voice, and spatial navigation

It does not cover third‑party content, integrations, or partner zones we do not control, though we encourage all partners to follow similar accessibility standards.

3. Measures We Take to Support Accessibility

We integrate accessibility into our design, development, and content processes by:

  • Design Standards: Building with semantic HTML, ARIA roles, and accessible color contrasts.

  • Keyboard Navigation: Ensuring all interactive elements can be accessed without a mouse.

  • Text Alternatives: Providing alt text for images, descriptive labels for controls, and captions/transcripts for multimedia.

  • Responsive Design: Supporting a range of devices, screen sizes, and orientations.

  • Assistive Technology Testing: Regularly testing with screen readers (e.g., NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) and other assistive tools.

  • Continuous Training: Educating our team on accessibility best practices and inclusive design.

  • User Feedback Loop: Encouraging and acting on accessibility feedback from our community.

4. Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, we are aware of some current limitations:

  • Certain immersive 3D elements may not yet have full descriptive alternatives.

  • Some partner‑provided content may not meet our accessibility standards.

  • Complex spatial navigation may require additional accessibility modes, which are in development.

We are actively working to address these issues and welcome feedback to help us prioritize improvements.

5. Technical Requirements & Compatibility

Our platform is designed to work with:

  • The latest two versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)

  • Operating systems with built‑in accessibility features (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android)

  • Assistive technologies such as screen readers, voice recognition software, and alternative input devices

JavaScript must be enabled for full functionality in immersive zones.

6. Ongoing Efforts & Future‑Proofing

Accessibility is not a one‑time project — it’s an ongoing commitment. We:

  • Conduct periodic accessibility audits, including automated scans and manual testing

  • Integrate accessibility checks into every development sprint

  • Monitor evolving standards (e.g., WCAG 2.2, WCAG 3.0) and update our platform accordingly

  • Include accessibility requirements in partner and vendor agreements
